Happy end of the summer!

Thursday, 6 September 2018
It's been too long since I've posted! My brother got married, I've taken a new full-time job. We've entertained our family members in our house on Bald Head Island, as well as friends. This is a fun new year and the semester is off to a great start!

Our tomatoes are popping in the garden and my herbs are going strong. Cooking is my passion and I've tried a few new dishes this summer. My book about cooking classes around the world is available in digital form if you'd like to take a look at some of the recipes I'm trying.

This is a lovely time of year and I hope you and your family and friends are enjoying the end of summer. We have an addition to our family - a rescue kitty named Smoky. He is named after the Great Smoky Mountains National Park where James and I love to camp and photograph black bears. Of course, he is also grey so the name is fitting.

Smoky is loving and adventurous. He loves to go outside and will tell you about it when he is not let out. He is enormous but only one year old so is still sort of clumsy like a kitten. We love him and our other cat, Lily, seems to like him too and she is not one to tolerate nonsense.

What else did you do this summer? I went camping and kayaked quite a bit on Bald Head Island, North Carolina.
